one thing you need to realize is the usp45 tactical (or hk45 tactical not sure which you mean) is a higher end handgun model from the USP line and they are very popular. it has a better trigger and a threaded barrel, the extras are the reason why it costs twice as much as the VP line.Glockster wrote:rentz wrote:i wouldnt say entry level, but they priced the VP line similarly to the currently polymer striker fired options.Glockster wrote:Noticing that from the pricing on gunbroker it seems that the VP40 is priced just slight higher than a Glock. Entry level gun then?bmwrdr wrote: The VP9 and the VP40 have the same feature of interchanging grip elements as the P30 and full size HK45! The only difference is the stippling pattern.
i love my vp9 and if you get one or the vp40 i HIGHLY suggest getting an LE one if you can, which comes with an extra magazine and night sights.
What kind of differences are there between that and a P30 or 45 Tactical? I mean, what makes those that much more expensive? On gunbroker the VP40 is going for $600 and slightly up, while for example, the 45 Tactical is about twice that.
That and all the hammer fired models will cost more due to the higher cost to manufacture, it's very difficult to try and compare the VP cost to the cost of the 45 tactical line it's apples and oranges. another thing to consider is the USP series is a bit thicker than the P series, the P series is more ergonomic (as is the HK45 series)
IMO go try them out before dropping the cash on the tactical, or if you just want to wade into the HK waters the VP9 is hard to go wrong with...i'm far from a marksman and the second i picked up the vp9 i was greatly more accurate with it just through the first magazine alone.
