I agree it makes no sense if you believe what politicians say instead of watching what they do. The sad fact is we don't have open carry for the same reasons we don't have campus carry. It's easy to talk the talk when they know by making Straus the SoH they'll never have to walk the walk, because he'll make sure liberty dies in a smoke filled back room if he can't guarantee thunderous applause.
