I wouldn't necessarily say that. Like myself, others who have filed formal complaints with the AG's office have likely received correspondence stating that the matter is being investigated. Until I myself receive notice that the mater is closed I'm going to assume the process is working. If I fail to receive further notice within a reasonable amount time you can rest assured I will follow up with the AG's office concerning my complaint.

Granted the process worked too slow to make a difference at this year's rodeo, but I remain optimistic that it will be resolved before next year.

Re: Houston Livestock Show/Rodeo to Prohibit OC

I faxed a complaint and photo to Judge Ed Emmet last week. I wasn't surprised when I received no reply and the signs were still there this week. I went ahead and filed a formal complaint through the AG website, and within 25 minutes received an email from Captian Gregory Lewis.
Mr. Barriault, my name is Captain Gregory Lucas, I am the Law Enforcement Liaison for the Office of the Attorney General, your complaint was forwarded to me for review. Our agency has already received a complaint regarding NRG Park in Houston and it is being addressed, do you still want me to forward your complaint? If so, please send me the response that you received regarding your complaint, if you received one. Thank you.
I responded and informed him that I had not received a reply from Harris county and asked that he please forward my complaint. I'm wondering if I'll hear anything further.

Re: Houston Livestock Show/Rodeo to Prohibit OC

As Mr. Cotton has suggested, follow the procedure. Notify Harris County first. Here is Devon Anderson's email address: da@dao.hctx.net. She is the DA for Harris County. Send her an email similar to the following:
Dear Devon Anderson,

I’m sure you’re aware that the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has prohibited concealed and open carry by posting unenforceable 30.06 and 30.07 signs at this year’s event. I understand that the rodeo event itself, held in NRG Arena, is a professional sporting event where LTC is prohibited. However, the grounds of NRG Park, NRG Center, etc. are owned by Harris County and cannot be posted.

This email serves as my formal complaint of this violation. You hereby have 3 days to take action and remove the illegal signs on Harris County property. If I do not hear from your office within 3 days that this situation has been resolved, I will file a formal complaint with the Texas Attorney General.

Sincerely,

Your Name and Phone Number
Then in 3 days file a complaint online here: https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/apps/3006/

And for goodness sake, if you go to the rodeo, take pictures of the illegal signs and post them here as a resource for everyone else to use when filing their complaints.
