Re: Gun control legislation unlikely in wake of Colorado sho

Basically I think that as in many cases you'll beat the rap but not the ride, CO. like Texas has a state preemtion law/rule but like harris county they are going to do what they want, better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission. just stay out of the cities or under the radar if you go into one

Colorado like texas has a state pre emtpion law but it seems some cities refuse to accept it like Pittsburgh and Philidelphia PA. do the state laws of PA.

Each state should prevent any changes to statewide laws.

Pennsylvania doesn't allow local restrictions, but they have to constantly fight the Cities of Pittsburgh and Philidelphia over these issues.

SIA

fixed it for ya, Philly even makes carrying a package of razor blades(like shick or gilette refils) illegal, the state had to take Philly to court and get an injunction to stop them from disallowing the exercise of the CHL and jailing people

Re: Gun control legislation unlikely in wake of Colorado sho

When James Holmes decided to go on his murderous rampage, he choose the one Colorado city with the most restrictive gun laws in the state.

Colorado is a shall-issue conceal-carry state. However, city councilmen have banned concealed carry in 13 Colorado cities.

These are the13 Colorado cities that ban concealed carry:

Aurora, Boulder, Broomfield, Colorado Springs, Denver, Englewood, Lakewood, Littleton, Longmont, Northglenn, Pueblo, Thornton, Westminster, Wheat Ridge

And only one city in the entire state has banned having a loaded gun in your car:

That city is Aurora.

So, Colorado may have what some call lax gun laws, but in this case the bad guy made sure he picked the ONE CITY in all of Colorado where he could be almost 100-percent sure that he would not be faced by a good guy permitted to carry a concealed weapon who could have brought him down. All that these heavy gun laws do is keep the guns in the hands of the bad guys and out of the hands of the good ones. Something to think about.
