It's always a dangerous thing to out oneself to a stranger, especially in the course of conflict. One could certainly make the argument that if you were arrested and and testimony were brought against you it would be a problem for you. So often all people hear when you're talking is, "Blah, blah, blah, blah, GUN!!"

"Officer, he came in, argued with me, he was angry about our store policy, he said that he wouldn't come back, and oh yea, on the way out he told me he was carrying a gun." You have to ask yourself if you would want this TRUTH to be conveyed to a police officer, and a local television reporter.

I...just read back and found this...more fearful imaginings...one could make the argument that the sales manager had a desk monkey with a big hammer with just as much validity...there was no conflict...merely an informing the salesman of why he lost some business...and "if you were arrested"...FOR WHAT????? it seems that whenever someone stands up and makes a firm statement about what they believe, the chickens all fly off their nests...for a minute...then they settle down again...the OP did a good thing the right way....and the sky is NOT falling...
I don't think it would be a good idea to tell someone in the course of an argument that you have a wrench in your pocket either. Many people are freaked by guns and if you say that you have a gun in your pocket in the course of an argument it could easily be misconstrued as a threat; so it is radically brighter to keep the whole gun in your pocket to yourself.

don't remember seeing anything about an argument, why is everyone assuming there was an argument here, I agree with what the OP did, I would have done the same thing GB sign or legal 30:06 sign, they want to discriminate then I can too :mad5
