Re: April 2011 Applications
I've known my DL # since I was 16. I remember staring at it so much and often and being so excited about receiving it. Then I played the numbers as intervals on the piano and that pattern has stuck in my head since.

Still dragging along. It seems there's neither rhyme nor reason as to when things are processed.

Re: Houston NASA no carry zone?
I did a google search for NASA Houston and found an old THR post saying that it's a Federal no carry zone, even in the parking lot. Is this true? I hate taking long road trips unarmed. Ugh. Thanks, :tiphat: I guess you could just consider it the ultimate Port of entry/exit. :smilelol5: :smilelol5: ...

Re: Renewal Class - Disappointing
I agree with the above posters. A letter to the DPS with your concerns is certainly a good idea, and the name so we can be sure not to use him/her. One ill-advised, unqualified CHL holder is enough to give an unwanted and unwarranted black eye to the program. It would seem prudent to police ourselve...

Re: April 2011 Applications
Just went into Manufacturing Pending yesterday. Hopefully I'll have some good news this week. I might make it in under 60 days yet.

Re: April 2011 Applications
Status has now shown up! All that appears to remain is background check. I wonder if it was the e-mail to DPS yesterday or it was just time, but the processing continues. :)

Absolutely. The 4/2 class from Charles went by in a blink. Fascinating, engaging and informative. I'd be willing to go back and audit it. ;)

Re: April 2011 Applications
This is interesting. Having mailed my package in a few weeks ago and no status update, I called DPS today to make sure they had received it. After waiting on the phone for close to 30 minutes, the guy who answered said that there is no way to find out if they had received my packet and that two week...

Just wait until they start demanding stiffer screwdriver control laws to keep those 'tool nuts' in line.Pug wrote:Hmmm...

Re: Houston: Convenience store robbery-murder
Shame that area has gone downhill, I grew up near there way before the crowds arrived. Back when you could find horned toads and crawdads out there near the ditches which are now below the streets. When I grew up there we didn't need locks on the windows; often slept with them open so the attic fan...
