I went today to the Arlington Academy sports and bought a Ruger 10/22 Takedown. I got the black synthetic stock with the stainless barrel and works. I love the bag! Plenty of room for the broken down gun and several hundred rounds of ammo on the inside. That still leaves the two pouches on the outside. I am excited.

One thing about Academy Sports, this was my first gun purchase with them. I found it interesting that the salesman carried the gun to the front, kept it in his hands during my paying for it, and then carried it out the front door before handing it to me. I was beginning to think he was going to carry it to my truck for me. ha

Unlike Academy which has no checkout at the gun counter. you can pay at the sporting goods counter at WalMart, but they still carry it out the door. I bought a .22 pistol at Academy and they wouldn't sell me any .22 ammo at the same time. I just put the pistol in the truck and reentered to get the ammo. "rlol" I found a very interesting review on the 10/22 TD. I'll look for it, but he tested the rifle one shot at a time for accuracy and disassembled it after each shot. He used the iron sights and took the gun right out of the box. The results were very good. I'll look for it and post if I locate it.
I asked about .22 ammo before we headed up to the front. The guy pointed out what they had, but it was all such over priced stuff I declined. The cheapest was %59 per brick and went up to $89 per brick. I'll shoot my Bucket o Bullets thank you very much.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had not seen the AR-7 before.

I already have two .22LR pistols, a Walther P22 and an LCR . That's why I was looking for a rifle/gun. I looked at a Charger today, but with no sights on them, I fail to see the usefulness.

Looking for a .22LR fun gun/rifle. Any ideas?

I am getting a new .22LR gun/rifle in the next week or so and would like to hear from the group about what is a good 'un to look for. I have been researching Ruger 10//22 and Ruger Chargers, mainly in the takedown versions, but am not married to either of them. I am a full-time RVer and space can be at a premium in the RV. That is why I was thinking about the Takedowns.

I want a fun gun to shoot at paper targets, cans, etc. Simplicity is the key. I am not looking for a gun that will shoot the eye out of a flea at 100 yards. I doubt I could see 100 yards at my age anyways.

Any ideas guys/girls?

Thanks,
Joe
