As long as it is Glock factory, I would encourage you to test it out at the range. I've never had an issue with any of mine. If it is an aftermarket, keep it in the drawer. :-) I also understand if you keep it in the drawer so that all of your mags are the same. Of note, you can buy a G17 version and trim back the grip to fit the G19 magazines. While not for everyone, it is just polymer. Careful work with a dremel can knock it our in not much time.
