This is both cringe worthy and often true at the same time. "Hi, here is a sign. You don't know this but we both got what we wanted today." Granted if you immediately leave there shouldn't be a ride involved but the sentiment is true.

If they are dialing 911 to contact the police I guess it would be filing a false police report?(I'm not actually sure what the law is in regards to 911) If they are calling a non emergency line I suspect it would be similar to the fines you can receive if police respond to your security alarm and there was no crime.

I am curious as to what folks think that fix will involve. I agree that we don't need our LEO being the "arm of the lazy." I do suspect that the average store owner/manager wants flashing red and blue lights out front of their place as seldom as possible. It seems to me that they will start posting valid 30.07 signs if needed, fairly quickly. Anyway, I am truly curious what penalties or "encouragements" folks think might be imposed on business owners. Property rights alone would seem to muddy these waters.

This. ^^^^^^^^^^^ I don't know why people want to hold businesses "accountable" for a compliant sign. The compliance of a sign is designed to protect the handgun carrier.

Invalid sign: if I saw it, I would comply. If I didn't see it, I am protected from prosecution.

I agree that he is likely a troll. I think now we are just discussing the nuances of the law. As we often do. OP is no longer relevant so much. He is the cause of the "what ifs" but I hope for most educational purposes folks are now just talking about when they might get in trouble themselves.

I think it is all part of the "shake out" period others have mentioned. Some are shaking out how far they want to push/nudge property owners in legal signs. I hope we nudge more than we push.

I thought the "double tap" on the font thread was pretty funny. Then this one made me more leary. I get some double posts now and then as well.
