Just an update. I did not see any gunbuster signs while in WP. We did not do the normal tour of the shops, however.
The resort was clear. Smokehouse BBQ was really good and no sign. Elevation pizza (a family favorite) was also gunbuster free.

Side note, checking pistol through United at IAH, barely got a notice. Signed the "unloaded" card. Ticket agent forgot to look and asked me if it was in a locked case. done. Checking pistol in DEN, United, same unloaded card but then we had to have a porter take our luggage 150-200 yards down to the dedicated TSA x-ray (or whtever suped up machine) room. They never unlocked my bag or checked my locked case, but I am assuming it got a hefty dose of the once over inside the scanner. Much more lengthy with much more angst as I was much later than usual getting to the airport. Still pretty uneventful.

I don't disagree. I'm just not sure that there are real good options.

It's the locker or the car or the condo. In a tourist town, I figure all three could/would readily be watched by ner-do-wells. My thought was to be uninteresting (not putting electronics or other attention getters in the locker) and still carry as much as possible. If I arm/disarm in a stall and simply wrap up the gun in a fleece or the like, it would be boring to watch.

I appreciate your confidence but I crash WAY too often to carry on the slopes. :-) I'd be bruised and battered for sure. I was intending to locker the pistol (keeping if from view the whole time). The handgunlaw page shows that national forests are okay. I'll do some more digging but unless there is a special "ski resort" provision, I would guess it falls under forest land. I'll spend some time on that though. It's a good thought.

In the past, it's been argued that A no gun sign does not have the force of law, but there seems to be some case law that says otherwise.

It's been about 2 years since my last trip to WP, but I don't recall seeing many "No Guns" signs anywhere around town.

I noticed the change in "gun buster" status on handgunlaw. That was a big reason I asked. I was there just last year but I didn't fly with my pistol and so I didn't pay enough attention. The uncertainty may encourage me to take the 380 and apply concealed means concealed rule. Even though I often carry bigger, the 380 just melts away. Would reduce my stress if I was in a group setting going into a posted restaurant, etc.

Anyone happen to know if it is posted? I am fearful that as a tourist town they may fall too far on the side of the antis.
