"no person shall be convicted of an offense under subsection (a) or (e) with respect to a Federal facility if such notice is not so posted at such facility, unless such person had actual notice of subsection (a) or (e), as the case may be."
Underlined part would worry me. You would know it's a federal facility, would you therefore have "actual notice?"
Also, "(d) Subsection (a) shall not apply to—
(3) the lawful carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes."
Could concealed carry not be a "lawful purpose?"

Re: HB308
It also made 46.035 (except the intoxication subsection) a Class C for first offense. This includes intentional display, bars, sporting events, correctional facility, and posted meetings of governmental entities.

Re: HB308
If i understand it, 308 decriminalizes it, but still allows rules to be put in place. Notwithstanding any changes that were made.TexasJohnBoy wrote:This is good movement. Now please move Campus Carry too... Or does HB308 effectively take care of that too? I didn't see any mention of higher education in the text of the bill I looked at...

Re: HB308
HB308 also exempts CHL from 46.03, which includes schools, polling places, court, racetrack, airports, and within 1000 feet of an execution. Federal law allows people with licenses to be on school grounds.locke_n_load wrote:I don't think 46.035 bans schools in the first place, federal law does that. This would open up for carry at school or professional sporting/interscholastic events.CJD wrote:Hopefully in most places, but they'll probably try to exclude at least schools.locke_n_load wrote:If licensed OC passes, will this be amended to include OC (would be nice for the sake of consistency)?
