His eyes got as big as saucers.....
My daughter has a new boyfriend (let’s call him Johnny) as of several weeks ago. This is her first 'real' boyfriend. Johnny is over at the house two-three times per week for dinner, and been over to watch several college football games on the weekends. During the course of conversation, he knows I o...

Re: Bill of Sale
I have a pistol for sale now, so the timing of this thread is perfect. After reading the thread twice now, the 'to each his own' stance is where I stand. I have had several interested buyers. Once I determine the person is a truly interested, I tell them I must view their valid TX drivers licence to...

Re: Tossing around an idea
As others have posted, if you are comfortable shooting a particular caliber over another, then dont deviate (especially for SD / HD situations). I recently had the opportunity to purchase a high caliber pistol. I took it (along with my HD and SD pistols) to the range, and after 200 rounds at various...

Re: "It's a lead pump...."
Our school district does not consider 'cheer' a sport. If the sport does not qualify as an Olympic sport, then our district does not consider it a sport?!?!?!? Ever try to do a back tuck or standing full? These girls are extremely talented and could whip the chess team! I never thought about being i...

"It's a lead pump...."
Was attending a fundraiser for my daughters school cheer booster club earlier this week at a local restuarant. We arrived and were standing around talking when the president of the booster club approached from the right in my blind-spot with a "hey - how yall doing" and accidently 'patted'...

Re: Before I contact the judge.....
The judge called and said he would remind the bailiff that no one (other than himself and other law enforcement) is supposed to be "carrying in my courtroom". He went on to say that "because we are not given a metal detector does not mean I want weapons in my courtroom". He was v...

Re: Before I contact the judge.....
It was definitely a pistol. He leaned so far over the wooden railing that the weapon was clearly 'printed' through his jacket. It was a compact semi-automatic pistol. If I had been sitting a row or two closer, I might have been able to determine a make/model...... Once again, the only reason to brin...

Re: Before I contact the judge.....
It was not overly concerned that the attorney was carrying in the courtroom, and therefore I did not feel it prudent to braoch the subject during the proceeding. The bailiff's response did concern me, and that is why I feel (once my interpretion of the law is confirmed) that the judge needs to be ma...

Re: Before I contact the judge.....
'Conact the judge' is in reference to educating his staff about the conceal/carry laws.
The attorney should know it is against the law to carry in the courtroom (but that is a different subject that does not concern me)

Before I contact the judge.....
I had the privaledge to serve as a juror today at the JP court in Harris County today. My understanding of the law (section 46.03 (3) ) is that weapons are not allowed (with certian excpetions) in a courtroom, so I left my weapon in the car We jurors are seated on the left side of the courtroom (bef...

Re: Conceal Carry when going to the Range?
The range I frequent has a sign that says (paraphrasing) 'your weapon must be holstered or in a bag upon entering the premise'. Discussing the sign with an employee, she said that (for the range users) the word 'holstered' means concealed. She then looked me square in the eyes and her normally jovia...

Etiquette at gun counter
I am new to the ‘world of guns’, and have jumped in head-first. After taking a shooting lesson (with access to six of the instructors pistols), I purchased a Glock G17 3G (first and only pistol in the arsenal at this time) in December. Took my CHL exam two weeks ago, and mailed the paperwork to DPS ...
