Re: Article: What’s The Best Way To Clean Brass?
New Cadillac, I wash, polish, shine. 9mm Brass, I don't care if it has a few spots on it I am not driving it through the office parking lot ... what's with wanting a mirror finish you can see yourself in? Pull trigger, tarnished brass sounds exactly the same as polished; "bang"... some of ...

Re: Fun with powdercoating
Donnie Miculek (Jerry's little brother) probably should get some credit for starting this with his green coated bullets ... starting years ago. Bayou Bullets.. he coated them green.. He sold the company to specialize in just the coatings.. "Hi-Tek" I think.. the trick is do not scratch the...

Re: maybe an old topic, anyway to geussestimate life of reloaded ammo
I "found" 50 or so I reloaded back when Donnie still owned Bayou Bullets, (yep, coated with Alligator snot) in an old box at the back of my safe.. 9mm - cci primers - bullseye powder. 50 trigger pulls, 50 "bangs" and the Glock whimpered "more more" all the way back to t...

Texas made and Texas Proud
Anybody heard yet of a Texas entity venturing into silencer making? Obviously terrible timing due to raw materials shortages due to COVID, but is everybody just "rolling their own" or are there entrapreneuers geared up and turning anything out? I checked my usual "sources" in the...

Re: Why bother
Not a criticism so much as an observation on the times: "They are going to know anyway" I suppose it is old fashioned of me (indicative of my age) to think I still have some privacy rights in America... and ESPECIALLY Texas. I am not required to report to someone when I go pee in a restroo...

Re: Why bother
My my, how times have changed. I am old enough to remember the cries of many who saw it as a violation of their privacy to have to "register" in order to carry a gun. We got over it.. now the game has changed to: "stay registered" because it is the smart thing to do. Military has...

Re: Why bother
Came from a Liberal/Dem state rep in a meeting with constituents. Question was "how you going to hold down costs of state agencies"... Answer was, do away with unneeded functions and programs; "such as".... Audience mainly old, bored, uninterested people who thought it sounded li...

Re: Why bother
That will require that the state continue to test and issue new permits... I am hearing that function of the DPS will quickly be declared obsolete and phased out as a budget matter.

Why bother
Now that Permitless Carry in Texas has gone into effect; why will anyone bother to get a Concealed Carry Permit (aside from quick clearance when purchasing from a dealer) What does this do for form 4473? What will notification of a police officer entail now that the CHL list will go dormant? What ef...

Looking for wrist brace for PAK 9
PAK 9 is the pistol built by Chiappa on the AK-47 platform.. Fun gun, HEAVY and definitely not concealable. Looking for an arm or wrist brace before they are forced off the market. Charles Daly is the distributor for Cihiappa but they do not sell them and are obviously running scared of the ATF and ...

Re: Looking for opinions
Thanks for your note. It had been so long since I posted up my inquiry, I had forgotten all about it. Evidently you and I may be the only people in the world with any interest in the guns... although you no longer have yours and I took a pass on the one I was looking at.

Looking for opinions
Anybody had/or/have a CZ 99 (Zastava) Thinking of adding one to my small collection of guns that are entirely too heavy to carry but fun to shoot. I have a massive paperweight called a Beretta 92S so, I already know what ridiculously heavy means. Although, the Beretta is a good gun to teach someone ...

Honey Badger "temporarily" ok again
Headline in Washington Examiner
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has temporarily backed off criminalizing a type of gun used by 3-4 million people in the United States until after the presidential election, likely stoking the issue of gun control.

Re: Pistol for the wife?
I am partial to Glocks mainly for their simplicity and reliability. But, if she is a new shooter you will have to help her build trigger discipline, It frightens some people that Glocks do not have a safety. I recommend a 26, which is the smallest double stack. They will accommodate any mag from 11 ...
