Re: Anybody Reloading???

Well, we got to try my reloads this week on more than paper. It's safe to say that they are more than plenty for Texas hogs. I'm going to lower the loads down more the next batch. These make a mighty big hole on the way out. I suppose that there really isn't anything wrong to keeping to the Trapdoor loadings ;)

Re: Anybody Reloading???

I loaded up a box (50) of .45-70 on Sunday (300gr Sierras over an intermediate load of 4198 - higher than IMR's trapdoor, but not quite marlin level) to take up and plink feral pigs next month. The rifle is fine with loads all the way up to max levergun, but I'd just as well not punish myself that much.

And as soon as I say that, today I loaded up a very small batch of 240gr XTPs over H110 for my 629 to sit next to me while plinking said pigs. It normally eats a much lighter Trail Boss & lead diet. Plenty accurate and /much/ more fun to shoot. I've got a few hundred of those waiting for targets. I kinda want to see what one will do to an old pie melon or horse apple. :biggrinjester:
