...I check the obits where I used to live...and often say...but he/she was so YOUNG...ULP!!!

...no...I'm jest poutin'...all an old man's got left is his opinion...then durned if someone ain't always comin' along tellin' him how to say it...(if you ain't laughin' at me...you're probably the ONLY one who's not...)

...they'd probably hear "It was YOUR responsibility to follow up" and "we have no record of what you're telling us"...we DO have to do their job and ours to keep out of trouble...

...being from Louisiana, I sure understand your insight into that one!!!

..."I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you..." they're SUPPOSED to answer the letter of the law...just like we are...but we know how that's workin'...
