Re: Wife said "you need a gun with a safety on it"
Resurrecting My post from 5 years ago. I ended up with a Kimber Crimson Ultra carry II. Mainly due to not finding an STI locally. I have been one of the lucky ones as it feeds anything I put in it. But guess who carries a Glock 19 with "no safety" yes my wife.

Well thanks for all the comments. I will follow her wish and go purchase another pistol (darn). I just need to hit some shops and see how the three feel. I am leaning in the STI direction because they are made in Texas and have read a lot on there reliability and customer service.

Re: Time for a gun belt... any advice or suggestions?
I purchased a new ranger style belt from Texas Leathercraft. They are in Porter and the turn around was 5 days. The belt is thick and very stiff, it supports my Glock 27 great and my Ruger P-90 good also. The belt is very well made. http://www.customgunbelts.com" onclick="window.open(this....

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
At the ripe old age of 38 I retired from the US Navy, for the last couple of years in the kids that worked for me always told me I was old, well I was a Chief so Old Chief it is.

Wife said "you need a gun with a safety on it"
Got my plastic on Saturday, today I was putting my Glock 27 in an IWB holster and she asked if I had the safety on. My response was it has no external safety. She tells me I need one with a safety. My answer OK! So STI Escort,Guardian or Colt Defender? I am retired military so 1911 is not new to me....

Re: Discouraging words to hear
I got mine in just over a month and have lived in Texas for only 2 years. In Ohio it took 6 months, so TX seems fast.

L1 and fingerprints
L1 in Conroe will not schedule an appt for prints unless you have submitted your app to DPS. This does not seem to be what I have read on this forum. I was trying to get it all done prior to the class.
