it's not a purse, it's a european handbagBigSRanch wrote:I was at the livestock show and rodeo all day. Never saw a 30.06 sign (or even a 51 sign at The Hideout). Nobody really cared if I was carrying or not.
But if you're a woman (or a man, I suppose), carrying in your purse, they'll spot it when inspecting your back and may/may not freak out.

Re: Carrying at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock
IIRC, when we went 2 years ago the livestock show and vendor booths were set up in Reliant Center.. at least i think that's what the building is called, it's on the Fannin Street side (where they had the recent HGCA gun show). we may even be going there this weekend, i'll keep an eye out for any 30.06 postings if we do.Teamless wrote:The last time I went to the Livestock show portion, has been a number of years, and the livestock show, I believe, was around or even inside the Astrodome, while the Rodeo/Concert was in Reliant Stadium.rmr1923 wrote: it sounds like it's legal to carry at the livestock show, is that correct?
If this is still the case, or even if the Livestock show is inside Reliant Park (not the stadium portion through the ticket scanners), then yes, you are legal to carry.
You can also carry at the carnival, however, I would be leery of any rides that may dislocate your weapon
and no carnival rides for me. if Oakridge Smokehouse is there again, there's no way i'm risking vomiting up their BBQ.

Re: Carrying at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock
so from everything i've seen, it sounds like it's legal to carry at the livestock show, is that correct? my cousin is coming down to show her steer and we plan on stopping by to spend some time with them. my wife also likes to go and browse all the vendor booths, is it legal to carry inside there too? it's been a few years since we've been to the livestock show/rodeo so i don't remember exactly which buildings each event were held at.Teamless wrote:very true, however the livestock show is not inside the ticket line at Reliant.Ameer wrote:Neither is a concert.
The concert is inside and on your ticket stub it states Rodeo and Concert
