This weekend the family and I drove up to Bolivar, MO to visit some my wife's adoptive parents. I had checked all the CHL laws before going, just to ake sure there were no changes since I was last there (there weren't). What I didn't realize is the MO is a semi-open carry state. While the state has preemption regarding CC, they allow local governments to regulate OC. And, well, it turns out that Springfield (where our hotel was) and Bolivar both allow OC. So I got to open carry all weekend and never had a single issue!
Only 2 people even asked me about my gun, and one of those was a Springfield cop who behind me in line at a grocery store. Very nice guy who wanted to know how I liked my Kimber as he was thinking about getting one.
While it was a neat experience, I doubt I'd OC very often. But it sure was nice to have the option.
