Q: I was wondering if it would be possible (and at what cost) to order an Escort (or possibly Guardian) in .45 without the "STI Escort" rollmark? I like the Texas rollmark on the other side, but I find the size and font of the "Escort" unattractive. Thanks.

I am happy STI responded quickly. A surface plate, lots of sandpaper, some home-brew parkerizing and lots of patience could be one way to get rid of the roll marks. Such a plan is not for everyone.
I did consider that for about a millisecond.
Something about slapping spackle on a brand new >$1,000+ firearm makes me cringe.

Re: STI Without the ugly rollmark?

^^^ Wesson's CCO and your Guardian are definite contenders.
Unfortunately they require about 40% more pesos to procure. :cryin

Thanks for the suggestion.

I find the size and font of the model name rollmark prohibitively unattractive.
No problems with the other rollmarks.

Just working on my 2014 list for Santa
Can't you buy an after-market slide sans logo?
STI is already a bit spendy without having to buy a spare slide.
Plus, I DO like the "TX" rollmark.
