I have a friend that sells industrial lasers for Amada and I've been sourcing metal fab stuff for about 2 decades...
Probably why I wasn't clear on the OP image.... I was overthinking it.

It is not a carving but etched into the wood

I was trying to get an idea of the "depth" of the finished product. Your photo looks like it's maybe a 1/4" from the outer surface to the deepest part, but, I wasn't sure if that was a physical depth or an optical illusion from the laser/design.....

I went and found this video.... now I want one...
