Started snowing about 30 minutes ago on the N side of FTW. Big, fluffy flakes. We have a friend visiting from South Africa that has never seen snow, except in pictures. Just flew in yesterday. Talk about good timing. He's got a grin from ear to ear. We went out for a few minutes to get some pictures and video with him in his first snow. Lots of fun to see it through his eyes. Like a 50-something kid.

On the good news side, a friend that works at DFW reported that his commute this morning was slow but the roads not too bad. Walking out in the street in front of the house, the footing is decent enough that I would not have too many worries driving a few miles to the supermarket if necessary (no need though). Mostly sleet with snow on top and not at all icy yet.... Crunchy, not slidy.
