Yup, those guys are like drill sergeants, I try to go there during the week, as no ones there and you can call your own cease fire. If people are there then they tend to be on the level.Redneck_Buddha wrote:At Eagle Peak he would have been crucified.

Re: How is the .45 1911 Compact/subcompact?
I prefer a true Commander length barrel, but I also like an officers length frame. After messing around with a few other lengths and makes, I finally decided to pick up a Dan Wesson CCO. I have not looked back. ;-) it's just about perfect, stainless slide with a tough as nails finish, aluminum frame...

Re: AUTHORITY OF PEACE OFFICER TO DISARM
I was pulled over for speeding (going down hill at 39mph in a 30 zone). I sat with my hands in plain sight, and notified him that I had a CHL and that I was armed. I told him I have a Glock at 330 IWB. He asked my politely to step out of the car and he disarmed me in a respectful manner. He made my...

Introducing people to shooting and getting frustrated.
I have had several people express interest in learning to shoot and getting their chls lately. So I have had informal gun safety and familiarization get togethers at my house and now they are ready to start shooting! Which is great! Except I can't find any dang ammo! :banghead: They are excited to l...

Re: Educate me on 1911 Mags
My Dan Wesson CCO came with Checkmate 7rd mags, they have functioned great, so I bought a bunch of them (a lot less expensive than Wilsons or Tripps as well). I run CMC and factory Colts in my series 70 govt model. They work great as well. I did have a Tripp come apart in my CCO (follower came out o...

Re: On being disarmed?
I was disarmed during a stop (my first while carrying), due, I think, to both my nervousness and the fact that he was an FTO training a brand new deputy. He simply asked where it was, I told him holstered on my hip. I stepped out and he removed the pistol and placed it on the drivers seat, (he did n...

Re: DPS North Austin
Not a lot of help, but I was recently stopped by Round Rock PD and he asked me if I was carrying before I presented my ID and CHL. Super cool guy, and as he was walking away I asked him if it showed up I had my chl when he ran my plates, since he knew before I presented it, and he said yes. Take tha...

WTT: Ruger SP101 2 1/4" 357 for Glock 19 in Austin *pics*
I'm trying to standardize calibers, so it's time to get of the odd balls. The ruger is in great shape, with box and papers, a few cosmetic scratches in the stainless, these can be buffed out of course. I have some SD ammo, and lots of .38 wadcutter ammo, plus a don Hume iwb holster to go with it if ...

Re: Beretta Tomcat cracked frame
Beretta told me mine was out for warranty, therefore they could not help me. Although they offered to take a look at it at my expense if I wanted to ship it to them. I'll pass.
