Re: CHL & Your Church
I thought that case law had determined that premises means building and parking lot means parking lot. thus we can carry on the campus of a college, but not in a building until the law goes into effect.

Re: CHL & Your Church
that's sad. Probably the first church I've heard of that's posted, even if it's wrong.mojo84 wrote:I suspect it's Oakwood Baptist.

My husband says he is pretty sure the law was changed the next Leg session after the CHL law was passed.

Re: CHL & Your Church
I've got a couple of thoughts on this conversations. 1) concealed means concealed. This means no one needs to know that you are carrying, including your pastor, or the lead deacon. 2) While I sort of understand, in some churches, wanting to just go to the pastor and get it cleared up; see number 1.
As to if a gun is needed in church, just ask him about New Life in Colorado Springs, see if that rings any bells. I lived there at the time. That is one day I never want to live through again in my life.
Luke told His disciples to go get a weapon. Your pastor may have been telling you not to worry, that you don't "need" to carry, but he's not going to tell you "to" carry, that would be wrong on a couple of levels. He should, however, be able to tell you that it's ok when asked if it is.
