If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. If it's important and/or for me, the caller will leave a message which I will immediately return.
Yup, I do exactly the same thing. :thumbs2:

thing with me is that my number is my only number, we don't have a land line and I do get a lot of calls for my mother-in-law and such, I don't have a problem answering pretty much any call, but it's fun when I get a call from a "sweet young thang" that says "who is this?" and I know that she's been given the wrong number on purpose and I come back with "who are you calling?", she'll stumble a bit then hang up.....don't trust the guy at the bar kiddo.

I always respond "Freddy Krueger".

I always say, "who were you calling?"

Re: Word use that drives you up the wall!

Abraham wrote:"She Who Must Be Obeyed" is a great line referring to Hilda, Horace Rumpole's wife.

For my taste, Leo McKern played the best Rumpole. He was magnificent!

I've read everyone of John Mortimer's books.

Thanks for the reminder as enough time has passed for me to re-read him.

I adore that show! and you can call me "She who must be Obeyed" anytime :biggrinjester:

Add: Hot water heater
But that's not redundant in Texas -- in fact it is an actual description of what a water heater does all summer long -- heat hot water!
I guess my freezer is freezing ice too. :biggrinjester:

nooooo, in the summer it's freezing hot water :biggrinjester:

a friend moved here from Colorado and got really confused when in the summer she had to turn on the water and wait for the cool water to come out.
