Copies of this letter I wrote are being sent to my senators in Texas and emailed to my friends.
In recognition of current events everyone is getting on the band wagon either in favor or against gun control. In this latest terrible shooting in a public theatre we can see the fallacy of gun control. If one person had been in this location as a citizen and stopped this threat in action many lives would have been saved. I would be kissing his toes. Instead the theatre opted to control gun access and took away the rights of self-defense for the citizens attending the movie. The young man that entered with malicious intent to kill was a coward. He knew there would be no one in this theatre that could stop his evil and psychotic intentions. These people lost their lives because of gun control. He knew he would have a free fire zone in which no one could respond. This is further proved by the fact that he lived through this violent attack and even made it back to his car before capture.
England back in the liberal spirit of how guns are bad took weapons away from its citizens. Since then their crime rate has soared because common people had no way to defend themselves, and criminals no longer feared the consequence of their actions. An excellent example of this was the mob riots that burned a lot of London. Gun control was a very bad thing for England however they made it worse by now being able to prosecute anyone that harms someone robbing you. A friend of mine immigrating to America his first action was buying a gun.
To attempt to enforce gun control in the US is laughable. I have heard several wild guess as to how many unregistered guns abound on our streets however please believe me when I say there is no way to tag and locate all of them by a huge stretch. This cat got out of the bag a long time ago. If laws are passed only legal citizens will make the slightest attempt to conform and the criminals will have a field day. One of the chief fears of a criminal is that a home owner will be armed. In this simulation only the criminal element will be armed. (English criminals still can get guns.)
I was at the range several months ago when someone brought in six Chinese quests that spoke no English. They fired guns for the first time in their lives and I wish you could have seen the positive effect this had on them in understanding the freedoms of America.
This country was founded by a people that fought for their freedom and understood the importance of the citizens bearing arms. A man (or woman) without a gun is a serf. Armed he is a free man with all of the responsibilities and rights of the second amendment. In five of our eastern states there are more registered hunters than the army of Iran. During WW2 the reaon Japan never invaded our mainland was a healthy respect for the armed American.
The bloodiest war ever fought was Americans fighting Americans. The only way the Civil War eventually ended was by attrition. It was fought until almost the last man standing. Americans are the most dangerous force on this planet, its fortunate that we attempt to channel this effort to good causes.
Europe was losing both of the World Wars until American soldiers stepped in to clean the mess up.
We have a history and heritage of firearms. Yes there are sick people that take advantage of our freedom by killing others but for each of these there are thousands of us standing ready to defend our country and our rights.
Don’t take away our rights and guns or we surely go down.
