Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?

After a long hiatus while playing with boats in Gulf, have gotten back to shooting again. I was surprised to see this thread I started almost 7 years ago to the day still running! Fun reading through and seeing several familiar names. Got the Weatherby back out that I was working up loads for in the...

Re: Missouri passes permitless conceal carry via massive pro gun bill

I need to move to Missouri, then. Hopefully not into Newman or McCreery's districts. LOL You got something against folks from the big city? :boxing Saying this as a kid from the Farmington / Park Hills area ;-) Doc V, I still call it Flat River.... Never got used to the Park Hills thing  Sayin...

Re: Academy, You're Fired!

They've added a few words to the form letter addressing the logging of ammunition sales. I received the same form letter with this at the end.... "At this time we are not in anyway collecting customers information when any ammunition is purchased. It is Company policy to protect our customer's ...

Re: TX: One less car burglar

I remember my original CHL instructor's take on this years ago. He was a deputy for Harris County. His advise, if someone wants your car, let them have it and take the insurance check. While it didn't apply here, if you shoot someone in the car, it is impounded in a lot in Houston heat, things perco...

Re: Want to learn more about reloading

Get a couple of reloading manuals to read through. The Lyman manual is a good one. The ABCs of Reloading is another good one: http://www.amazon.com/ABCs-Reloading-Definitive-Novice-Expert/dp/1440213968/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453397793&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=abc+reeloading The reloadin...

Living vicariously reading through reloading forums for a few months. After bypass no more pulling on the handle for a while. Keep up the posts, enjoying the read!

Re: RCBS Press replacement part Question

I started off with the Lee hand primer with my single stage (Lee Classic)and love it. Beware this is a known addiction... I now have a Dillon 550 on the bench too and use both!

Never did like to prime with a single stage press. I like the feel of priming by hand.

Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?

I finally started cranking out 45 ACP this past weekend. I was down to less than 100 rounds in inventory. Had the Dillon set up for small primer and 223 for sub-sonic rounds and have been too lazy to spend 10 minutes to reconfigure until my 45 stockpile got too low. Swapped over to large primer, cha...

New Deer Load, Has Anybody Used FTX Bullets?

Curious if anyone else has tried these components and what your results were. I've decided to go old school at the deer lease this year and go back to the model 94 with iron sights. Loaded up a bunch of 160 gr. FTX with once fired Winchester brass, Federal Match LRP, and Leverevolution powder. Did w...

Now working on some 380's for the Kel Tec and Walther unloaders. Mostly Starline but some mixed brass with Hornady XTPs on top. Using WAP powder and CCI small pistol primers. https://photos-4.dropbox.com/t/2/AAB-UUlQ8KzmGUEWHVeqOotpqqe5rAoQkZh1dIoZAL78rQ/12/44882621/jpeg/32x32/1/_/1/2/IMG_0281.JPG/E...

What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?

Hoping to stimulate a bit of activity here as it has been quiet for a while. Worked up some extremely accurate 30-06 loads for deer season. First time hunting with these bullets, so will be interesting to see the expansion results. Using once fired Norma brass, Federal Match large rifle primers, 55....

Re: Component Storage in TX

Welcome to Texas! Where I used to live on the north side of Houston, in Spring, I had my reloading bench, dies, brass, and bullets out in the garage. I also stored loaded ammo out there in GI surplus cans with a desiccant bag inside each. I kept all powder and primers inside in a temp/humidity contr...
