Plastic In Hand today!!!!!

The time line was just under 60 days but here ya go...
11/8/10- mailed
11/12/10- recieved at bureau
waited- no status update
waited- no status update
12/12/10- e-mailed to find out the status "...background check for non-disqualifing"
waited- no status update
1/5/11- Status was updated on web site
1/7/10- PLASTIC IN HAND

Remember if you have moved around a lot it can take a while. Be patient (as hard as it is, trust me I know). I wish everyone the best in the waiting room.

I went on the web site just to see if they update my status and low and behold it did...

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Proof of Special Condition : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Completed
Concealed Handgun License : Mailed

I have not recieved it yet but it actually says its in the mail!!!
Just under 60 days (60 days this coming Monday), as we chatted on this forum before I have been in the military for 19 years and lived all over so I guess it took longer due to the background checks. If you are in the same boat have faith. I will let you all know when I have it in hand.

Still counting the days. Oh and the e-mail said that the response I recieved was standard. (Hope it gets done soon)

If you applied online then you would go to return user and fill in the required info. Most of the people in the Nov. waiting room have had the same response of, the site is not updated, but check it out. I check mine daily just to see but I ended up sending an e-mail to the CHL department and recieved a response fairl quickly.

Oh...they say if you mailed the paper forms and did not do it online it will take a couple of weeks.

Well new to this forum. I was looking up some information on here last night and so I sent an e-mail to the good old DPS last night. Funny thing, I stated that the status had not changed from "awaiting information...". Today I get a response saying that they needed my full name, SSN, DL, birthday to look up the status which I had already put into that same e-mail, oh well, I did it again. Shortly after I recieved an e-mail stating "At this time a technician is needing to verify that anything found in the background investigation in non disqualifying"... I am confused a little. No record, not even a ticket in over 10 years, military,etc. I sent back an e-mail asking if this was a standard statement but no response yet. Has anyone heard of this??? I saw that a couple of people a while back had this happen but not sure really why. I am from Michigan originally so I thought that might be the reason why but since I have dealt with the goverment for over 19 years nothing should surprise me.

Dec 8 - found out above status via e-mail
