You're welcome.
Actually there are a lot of holsters out now. Comp-Tac can make almost any of their holsters for it. Tucker Gun leather makes a few. Blade-Tech has some kydex ones. And if you like exotic leathers, take a look a age-ranger's sharkskin setup from Rafter S.:longtooth wrote:+1 +1 +1 for kauboy. That was the Christmas present my wife wanted. She loves it, Mom does too, (got to get another one now.) & if I leave a 1911 platform that will be my first try.
Hers is a 9mm but the .40 is the same frame. I have held one but not shot it. The only thing I dont like about it is the rail & that makes for not many holsters yet. That is cosmetic. Just like traditional lines. Spell that 1911, Ruger Redhawk, or S&W 66.
It wont be long until there are some good holsters out for it also though.
You need to try your hand at the Beretta PX4 in .40. Its a sweet platform and is customizable to fit the shooters hand. The felt recoil is comparable to a 9mm due to the rotating barrel design. I love mine.Geister wrote:I really like the .40 but I haven't found a platform for it yet that I like. I picked the .45 because I really like the design of the 1911.
I think your kinda missing the point. The higher capacity is an advantage because you have more chances to get a hit with 17rds of 9mm as opposed to 10rds of .45. In a bad situation(where your gun is needed), having more rounds than your possibly armed opponent is always a good thing. Since your chances of a hit greatly decrease under stress, its nice to have those few extra rounds just in case. The difference in the power of the loads is obvious. Nobody is disputing that. Its just that with higher mag capacities, your odds of a hit increase.Geister wrote:The higher capacity of the 9mm doesn't do much for me since it's a weaker round than the .45.
