Re: Retention Holsters for Concealed or Open Carry
But as it is now, open carriers are protected from gun grabs by their relative rarity, and there's not much to report. Agreed. Thought should be given to the idea, but any amount of worry is currently unfounded. This could change. This is why I would rather be concealed, and an element of surprise....

Re: A Round in the Chamber Carry?
Glock 19, always chambered... safety? What safety?
My trigger finger is my safety when in hand.
My holster is my safety when not.

Re: Retention Holsters for Concealed or Open Carry
A The "level 1" retention holsters linked in the OP are all designed with intuitive levers or buttons that would be depressed during any gun grab attempt. A thumb-break requires the correct grip AND knowledge of how to properly disengage it in order to draw the gun, as it requires an acti...

Re: Retention Holsters for Concealed or Open Carry
The thumb strap makes this a level 2 retention holster in the technical sense and it does help to keep the gun from falling out of the holster, but it does very little to inhibit an active gun grab attempt. Comp-Tac makes several models of very fine holsters too, but none of them are designed or ad...

Re: Obama says gun control to be top issue of final year
Just wondering say he does sign some special orders or puts something in place, how easily can it be taken back or dealt with when new president gets put in place? I've heard that Cruz or one of his people (can't remember which) said that one of the things he'd do on day one is void *all* executive...

Re: Retention Holsters for Concealed or Open Carry
I didn't see it mentioned, but I'll be picking up a Galco Fletch high rise. https://www.galcogunleather.com/uimages/product_images/holsters/belt/FLETCH1_b.JPG I want OC to look as professional as possible, and warm brown leather almost fully enclosing the gun says "smart and professional" ...

Re: Need an expert's opinion here..
It's a simple physics problem. The recoil is not being met with equal and opposite force, and the recoil spring is unable to fully compress as a result. When you're shooting, you add (forgive me) considerable mass to the equation, and can apply proper opposing force during the reaction. For this gun...

As a member posted in the comments of that article, "MOLON LABE!"
He must really want to go out in flames.
It will be the worst mistake of his presidency.

Re: Empty Holster in Secure Locations?
I agree with the above. There is no law in Texas about holsters or magazines being prohibited. The law is clear. You can't take a weapon in. It makes no mention of any "accessories". If they give you grief, it's your choice on how you wish to proceed, but you won't be in violation of any l...

Re: If a CHL shoots, cops take gun,any probs w/ BUG?
If you're involved in a shooting, for evidence purposes and to recreate the incident, they will probably take all firearms you have on your person at the time. They will want to know which one was used, and that will probably mean taking them all. If it happens in your home, who knows how many they ...

Re: AMC Theater at the Parks Mall... 30.06(kinda)
IANAL, but if I saw a sign with 1-inch tall capital letters followed by 1/2 inch tall lower-cased letters I think I would say "close enough" and not enter. Why be the legal test case? To provide the best security to my wife and child that I can. That's enough "why" for me. "...

Re: AMC Theater at the Parks Mall... 30.06(kinda)
We've got a nice Wallace theater near us with nary a sign to be seen. I'd have preferred to just go there, but like I said, free tickets...
In any case, if given the choice, I won't be going to AMC anymore.
