This is why I have such a problem with so many in the GOP they say they are for small government but they are really for "their" version of big government. I am leaning heavily toward Gary Johnson, but I do not think he stands a chance.
I had to delete my initial reply because it went off on a crazy rant. Will we ever have a (viable) candidate that really believes in a government that leaves citizens alone to live their own lives and also leaves the free market alone to do what it needs to do? Why does it always have to come down to one candidate who represents Keynesian (redistributive) economics and another candidate who represents the modern christian church's version of Sharia Law?

I just want a governement that keeps the roads/bridges in good shape, runs a strong military, puts those who victimize others away, and...............well, that's about all I want the government to do, we Americans can handle the rest.
:iagree: :iagree: :iagree: 100 percent I agree, now lets find that candidate and get something done.

Never underestimate the Republicans' ability to shoot themselves in the foot. Luckily for them it is only figuratively.
Michelle Bachmann wrote:Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President.
Another disgraceful shameful and false claim from Bachmann.

From rasmussen:
Generic Republican Candidate 46%, Obama 42%

Yeah and current polling says that Obama would beat Palin in Alaska, whats your point? Polls at this point are about as useful as a hi-point

Filed without signature 5 vs. Signed 277 I think that speaks for itself.
The numbers in those reports don't make any sense. If the 1500 number I read is accurate, what happened to the other 1218 bills. Additionally, if you look at this report:

Bills Passed by House and Senate: http://www.legis.state.tx.us/Reports/Re ... &ID=passed" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It shows a total of 5527 bills and resolutions that should be on the governors desk.

Looking at the dates this only covers action taken in the last couple of weeks.

Re: Perry making a presidential run

I've met a lot of Ron Paul supporters over the last few years and our friend seems to embody exactly what they represent. Flamethrowers who contribute nothing of value to the conversation, it is like an argument with a three year old you cannot win and it is pointless to try. Many I have met are among the Alex Jones extreme right, many are 9/11 "truthers" who are convinced that the Bilderburgs are controlling everything from the media to gas prices to who wins election. They are lost as far as I see it and need direction one way or another, many are young and uninformed. Now thats not to say there aren't many more who are capable of rational thought and debate who are able to articulate their support for Rep. Paul in a intelligent manner. I am just stating my experiences with his supporters.
