I think it is a sign he has higher aspirations. Something like campus carry would be close to a third rail issue down the line if he runs for President. If that is the case (it's only my opinion that it is) I would have a hard time giving him any support regardless of how he stands on other issues or that I probably wouldn't anyways. I see it as a lack of backbone and playing politics in the worst way.
