Try this. Load one up the tube and eject the magazine. Pull back on the slide until the shell is about half way out of the chamber. Point the pistol muzzle straight up and ease the slide closed very slowly, using spring pressure while you hold back on it. If it closes all the way by itself it is good. Now insert a magazine about half filled. Again pull back on the slide until the shell is about half way out of the chamber. Point the pistol muzzle pointing straight up and ease the slide closed very slowly, using spring pressure while you hold back on it. It may catch and not lock the barrel. Rotate the barrel to horizontal and it should finish locking without any assistance. If it does not do this change the recoil spring. Retest. If the recoil does not help see an armourer.
