Re: Does anybody here still carry a revolver?
Sonetimes, when I only have myself to worry about, I'll carry either my: GP100 4" .357 mag SP 101 3 1/4" .357 mag SP101 2" .357 mag S&W 940 9mm With several speed strips or moon clips. The .357s with Remington Express 125 grain SJHP full blown magnum and the 940 with Federal HST 1...

Re: S&W what are you now?
I have 10 different Beretta firearms, and not even one is the arquebus they got their start in 1526 making barrels for. Why they had to go and change production types I'll never know, but glad they did. Since we're just blabbing, I've got 7 S&W firearms, 4 Semi-auto centerfires, a semi-auto rimf...

Re: What's Your Preferred Grain in 9mm for range and s.d.?
Over the years I've used mostly 115 grain FMJ for the range, and 115 +p+ or 124 +p for self defense, but now, due to reviews on YouTube and elsewhere, I have decided to standardize on Federal HST 124 grain +P for all my 9mms, short or long barrel. I bought 1000 rounds of it. Thus I have acquired, an...

Re: Blindsided
Gas stations are THE perfect place to have your hand on your pocket carry. I have my hand on my pocket .38 or .380 pretty much from the time I exit the vehicle to the time I get back in it to depart. The other larger pistol is always there, but the pocket gun is the fastest into action for a surpris...

I have been to my last gun show!
I'll never drink again!
I'll never eat like that again!
I'll never talk to him/her again!
Said them all, violated them all.

Re: 9mm v. 45apc question
I'm not familiar with all brands/versions of polymer pistols made in both 9mm and .45ACP, but I've got two sets, S&W Shield in 9 and .45, and Beretta PX4 Storm in 9 and .45. In both cases, the .45 version is built bigger, so not apples to apples. I have also had the S&W M&P in 9 and .45,...

Re: Remington 870 HELP
On a Q&A on that part someone asks if this is the same spring used in the 870 Police, and Brownell says no.
Another person, who sounds like they know what they are talking about, says yes, and convinced me. I'm ordering one for my 870 Express today, and what the heck, another for my 1100.

The only 30.06 posted theaters I'm aware of in town (San Antonio) are the Regal chain. Very prominently posted.

Re: S&W M&P45 Shield $224.99 After Rebate
Those $225 .45 Shields can't possibly be as good as my bought-a-week-before-the-rebate-started $375 .45 Shield , but enjoy them anyway. Great little pistol.

So where or what is the Never Again lesson? This is just general stupid stuff, non-preventable by anybody on this forum, and almost certainly neither kid's parents were forum members.

Re: So....Does anyone still shoot .40 ????
I carry 9mm, .45 ACP, and .357 mag on occasion, but my most often carried caliber is still .40. I really do think it's the best combination of capacity and power of the four. I just counted and found, just for comparison sake, that I have 6 9mms, 4 .45s, 4 .357s, and 8 .40s. I use various Rem, Win, ...

Kimber Classic Custom Ruger SR1911 Beretta PX4 Storm And a brand new S&W Shield. It's a dandy. Of course I bought it 1 week before the rebate offer started. Currently: Winchester 230 grain Flatnose hardball in the 1911s Remington 185 grain +P Golden Saber in the PX4 Federal 230 grain +P HST in t...

Nobody in my family. The Cub Scouts got me started. I don't know if they still do that but it was a one week camp as a Cub Scout. Same here. Nobody in my family went shooting, though a couple of them owned shotguns and .22 rifles. We had a Cub Scout outing where we each got to shoot 5 rounds out of...

Re: .38sp Ruger LCR and SD Ammo Used
I carry Speer Gold Dot 125 grain +P JHP in my .38 LCR. For no particular reason other than I like the Gold Dot bullet and this round burns clean and leaves no unburnt powder residue in my pistol. And I had 500 rounds of it on hand when I got my LCR. I like the Gold Dot bullet because the no-exposed-...
