Where did you get the info on the weapons? The FBI spox just now said they would not comment on the weapons used, and again when asked by a reporter if he might have taken weapons from his victims. The band wagon has already started, and the DC House Rep just said she wanted to know how the BG got a "high powered weapon" into a secure facility, and there were more weapons than people in the U.S.

” At least 13 people died Monday and 14 were injured in a mass shooting inside a heavily secured building at the Washington, D.C., Navy Yard, in one of the worst shootings ever at a U.S. military facility, and one of the deadliest single events ever in the nation’s capital.

The gunman, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis of Fort Worth, Texas, is among the dead. U.S. Navy officials reported none of the casualties were individuals in the military.

When it was over, Alexis, a former Navy reservist from Ft. Worth, Texas, who recently began work as a civilian contractor, lay dead amid an armload of weapons. Sources told News4 that surveillance footage showed that he began his attack with a shotgun, but was found with a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 assault rifle.

Alexis appears to have seized firearms from two of his victims as he moved through the building along the Anacostia River in southeast Washington, where 3,000 Navy employees go to work each day, many of them carrying authorized firearms.”

Re: Active shooter on loose in US Navy yard.

Seems he had some previous encounters with the law.

According to Navy officials, Alexis served as a reservist from May 2007 until his January 2011 discharge. Alexis was assigned to a logistics support unit based in Fort Worth and achieved a final rank of Aviation Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class.

Alexis was arrested for disorderly conduct in August 2008 in DeKalb County, Georgia. He was released from custody after posting $364 bond (and posing for a booking photo). The details and disposition of the misdemeanor case could not be obtained.

Alexis, who had a Washington State concealed pistol license, was charged with illegal discharge of a firearm and property damage. The disposition of those counts remains unclear.
