Re: Federal background check "compromise"

Just called and spoke with a receptive Sen. John Cornyn's office and passed on my distaste for Toomey's Bill of Surrender and hoped the Senator would not be supporting the bill. The secretary says she would pass on my request. Might be worth calling . :txflag:

Re: Federal background check "compromise"

Allegedly Schumer is also one of the co sponsors of this bill but did not attend the Press Surrender.

Update: “The background check bill, which would close the gun show loophole and expand checks to online sales, is officially co-sponsored by Schumer; Toomey; Joe Manchin III, D-W.Va.; and Mark S. Kirk, R-Ill. But only Toomey and Manchin appeared before the cameras. Toomey, the former Club for Growth president, had told Manchin he would not speak at the news conference if he had to get on stage with Schumer, according to two sources familiar with the talks. Schumer obliged, and Kirk also agreed not to appear in order to provide cover to Schumer.”

However, this time, they'll try to slip in something outrageous like the AWB at the last minute, knowing that BHO would sign it in a heartbeat. Sounds like the Demos ain't getting much on the face of this thing except to be able to say they did something, but I don't trust those bums any further than I could pick 'em up and throw 'em, either...too many weak RINO types helping them.
Just called the NRA and spoke to a rep in the legislative section, I was informed Joe Machin allegedly will not be getting an A rating again and the NRA does not support the Toomey compromise . I requested they make a public statement soonest on the Toomey/Manchin surrender bill.
