Just so long as you continue to realize that not all "academic types" fall in this same category. I'm a professor at a state university, and I've writen my representatives and senators several times in support of campus carry, all of whom happen to be on the side of the 2nd amendment rights. Of course, I did have a career in the "real world" prior to joining the faculty, so maybe that does make a difference.Heartland Patriot wrote:Just in case you didn't realize, the esteemed Senator's district includes Texas A&M at College Station...I'd guess he had a few phone calls and meetings (that included talk of contributions and campaign support) with certain "academic" types who opposed the bill...remember, some of those "academic" folks may be all kinds of book smart...they may have a knowledge level that far surpasses you or I, but they lack common sense when it comes to citizens being able to defend themselves...anyway, that's my take on the subject; anyone who cares to disagree is free to, of course.
