Re: November 2010 Applications
I know it is hard to resist checking the DPS website for information, but they don't seem concerned with updating the website. I have had my plastic for 8 days and the DPS site still says they are waiting for the materials.

Re: November 2010 Applications
Got mine yesterday, the DPS website seems to have made an error, it says waiting for submission.
Somehow I prefer that they spend their time getting the plastic in the mail instead of keeping the website up to date.

Re: November 2010 Applications
hmmm seems that the lack of online update is meaningless, perhaps they just update the site when there are exceptions in the processing of the license. I sent my package certified mail, and it was received 2 days after yours was delivered. I might expect to see my plastic sometime this week.UTMacGuy wrote:For all those waiting, I just received my plastic in the mail today after 21 days. I checked earlier in the day and my status was the same as it has been for the last 21 days - just the paragraph about DPS waiting to receive all my items.
I did the online application, electronic fingerprints, took the CHL class, then submitted all the last items to the DPS office here in Austin personally since I didn't want my packet to get lost in the mail. Not sure if that helped my application get approved faster or not.
Looking forward to contributing to the discussion and thanks to all those that have already posted - I find this forum very helpful since I'm new to CHL.
I finally discovered a way to not check the DPS website every day. The 4 day weekend gave me a break from that routine

Re: November 2010 Applications
1. You just asked my first question.Fallsraider wrote:what's the procedure for the DPS updating their website/status information? Does it update in real-time or end of the day or overnight? In other words, if you check it at noon is there any sense in checking again until the next day because their site doesn't update as things are finshing up?
Second:
Anybody know how to suppress the urge to check daily?

Re: November 2010 Applications
I've been looking over this and it seems that I should expect an update of some sort online in a few days. I had submitted the online application and went to L1 before I took my class on Nov 6. My envelope was signed for in Austin last Wednesday 11/10 and I guess I should add 2 days to allow for the holiday, and Friday after the holiday.
I am a little concerned that the L-1 tech seemed to be overriding errors (i.e. the computer was complaining about some of the fingers). Anyone have experience with that?
