There are a ton of older Southern Democrats. I grew up in a household of them. They have been Democrats for so long that they don't realize that the DNC bears little to no resemblance to what their parents believed. My grandparents were more of a "Zell Miller" Democrat. My grandfather was a scab at a steel mill in his youth and had little to no use for unions. He was a farmer and and owned a contracting business. He believed in RTKBA and was a firm believer in personal responsibility. He also registered as a Democrat to the day he died. I was 21 before I took enough interest in politics to realize that my beliefs (which are the same as his) weren't reflected by the DNC.Jim Lockey wrote:No Leon, most older people are not democrats.
