Kudos to the lawmakers who passed that law. I'm guessing it's a city ordinance since it only applies to Austin, so I'm in the highly unusual position of praising the Austin City Council, I guess.kjolly wrote:It's not often that you get to stand up for your rights. 4th amendment. They have passed a new law in austin where the APD cannot search your vehicle unless you sign a form giving up the right. They can always get a warrent.
This takes out all possibility that a verbal response will be taken out of context, and hopefully will also cause people to think twice before they willingly give up their rights.
