Re: US Govt. data breach
I contacted the OPM, and I finally received an answer as to why the OPM has my information. Many years ago I did some work at a VA hospital. Apparently the paperwork I filled out was kept at the OPM. So the hack doesn't just affect federal employees or those who have applied for a job with the feder...

Re: US Govt. data breach
Maybe a family member of mine filled out a form that had my information. I'll call the OPM next week to see if I can get an answer out of them.

US Govt. data breach
Has anyone here received a letter from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regarding the cyber theft of background investigation records? I received a letter today showing my information was included in the intrusion. I am not a government employee, and I've never applied for a government job s...

Straw purchase and private sales
I've been searching this forum and other forums for hours trying to understand what a straw purchase is. Most of the comments I've read lead me to believe that it only applies to purchasing a firearm from an FFL with the intent of giving the firearm to someone else. This act would mean you knowingly...

Re: Learned my lesson about "one in the pipe" today
I carried an XD for awhile simply because I wanted a blackstrap safety with one in the chamber. I got used to carrying and upgraded to a Glock with no fears of having one in the pipe.

I like the Glock indicator. You can feel it in the dark.Abraham wrote:My Glock 19 has a loaded chamber indicator.

Re: Changing sights on a Glock
Good stuff. A few years ago, I purchased a set of sights from Cheaper Than Dirt in Fort Worth, and they installed the sights for free. I've seen quite a few stores offering this service lately.

While I carry if I venture away from my property to the store, walk, travel, etc. I don't feel a need to carry while mowing.

Re: Question about requirement to disclose you are carrying?
I've never had a problem with a police officer having an issue with a firearm in my vehicle. I keep my hands on the steering wheel, and I always explain where my firearm is, and I only remove my hands when the LEO asks for my ID. Just do the right thing and be polite.

I also think that extreme pro OC tactics do more harm than good. I cringe at the sight of gun owners carrying rifles in the open at rallies. There is a way to get your point across, and there is a way to hurt your campaign.
