Re: LEO smuggles pocket of live ammo at IAH security

My TSA story:
After my Father's funeral & subsequent bequeathing of his pistol/case/ammo to me, I tried to fly home with it.

I had "mis-remembered" our departure time by 30 mins, so instead of having an hour to get through TSA, we had 30mins. Which meant, there was no more checked baggage & the pistol was not making the flight home with me (disappointing).

My brother had just dropped me off & I called him back to pick up the pistol. I had sent my fiancée ahead with the rest of our luggage except the bag I was carrying as I was explaining to the TSA agents I'm removing a pistol (in a locked case) to be sent home. My brother gets the pistol & as he's pulling away says "and I'm not coming back!". I hustle back to TSA & taking my shoes off & all that. The agent then says, "so you don't have any MORE firearms or ammunition, right?"

Um . . . CRAPOLA! I have this brand new box of 100 rounds of .45! Anyone looking for ammo in late 2008 will know, it was hard to find. Someone at TSA got a free box of it. :(

Amusingly, when my brother drove from NC to TX for xmas, he brought the pistol with him. I had bought a combo lock for the case, but in the 4 months since, I've forgotten where the combo is. My brother walks in sets the pistol case on the table & the lock pops open!
