DPS vs. DMV
Presuming I get my my permit by next week, it will have taken DPS 5 weeks to process paperwork, conduct two background checks, and deliver my CHL.
It took the Texas DMV 7 weeks to get me my driver's license when I moved here.

Not in the mailbox today.
I feel like a kid who just heard he's getting a fat birthday check from grandpa in the mail....
