Just a side note on this subject - we just spent 4 days at HLSR showing cattle - lifting, leading, bathing, feeding - basically living with cattle for 14 hours a day. Both MAR and I carried the entire time, I even went into the show ring. NO problems. We had a great time - stood in many lines with literally hundreds of thousands of people around, we never even thought of "losing it" like so many folks are afraid of happening on campuses etc with folks carrying. Didn't even threaten the judge when my cow didn't win
We did not attend any of the concert/rodeo performances, so that was not an issue.
The "stickiest" times were using the cattle blower to dry my pants after washing cattle... gotta be careful with shirts blowing up - those blowers are powerful!

My understanding is everything BUT the rodeo is OK to carry. Livestock exhibits, carnival (although some of those jerky rides might test your holster retention) BBQ cookoff are all OK.
