You might be surprised

All of us that shoot matches started somewhere.
Most of us started at or very near the bottom.

We are always nice to new shooters. Once you have shot a few matches, we'll start making fun of you like we do all of our buddys.

Come out and watch a match. It may look like something you'd like to do.
Just wear eye protection and hearing protection.

Minimum equipment to shoot a match:
Eye & Ear protection
A pistol or revolver (9mm or bigger)
Enough magazines or speed loaders to hold 40 rounds (change to 30 rounds for IDPA)
150 - 200 rounds of ammo (you won't shoot that much but you can take the extra home)
A holster that covers the trigger guard.

When planning your first match only aquire the minimum equipment required. If you shoot a couple of matches and like it, you'll have plenty of time to aquire more equipment.

LoneStar2

I am a member of Greenwood.
I became a member by getting a post card from Bill Hunter the Pistol Director at his USPSA / IPSC Match on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

I sent in the postcard and was invited to the monthly directors meeting.

Since your having trouble getting in touch with the Membership director, you might just bounce out to the range and get a hold of Bill. And, while your there you can tour the range and shoot a match.

See you at the range 5/12/2007
