I've seen birdshot out of a 20 gauge nearly amputate someone's foot just above the ankle joint. It was still hanging on by skin tatters. At close range.....say inside of 10-15 feet....birdshot is going to be pretty darn lethal. Is buckshot
more lethal? Sure it is, but if birdshot is what you've got, and you're getting close to bad-breath range, don't worry about it. Shoot him, and he'll go down.
