As an afterthought. If I observed one of my animals attacking without provocation, outside their own fenced yard, I would put it down right then, right there. Then I would probably not be able to see very well for a while.

I have two dogs and will strive mightily to protect them. HOWEVER, If a dog attacks me in the street just because I am walking/running/biking by I WILL KILL that canine without hesitation. It will not make it home. If a dog will attack me without provocation it is a danger to all women and children in the neighborhood and deserves to be put down immediately. Then I will call the PD.
