Texas instructors who don't know Texas law.
Maybe they're the ones getting so upset over the "Utah Problem" when they're the real problem.

If they're driving unsafely by violating Texas Transportation Code 545.060, 545.062, 545.104, 545.363, 545.401, etc. then they can already be ticketed. On the other hand, If they're driving safely in a private vehicle, then I don't think the law should penalize some distractions if it doesn't penalize others. Cell phones, CB radios, XM radios, screaming children, nagging spouses, drinking coffee, etc. can all be distractions.

Re: The "Utah Problem" is back in uglier clothing
To make Keith B happy, I'll make my point without quoting anybody else. Out or in context.
Legislators who want to limit nonresident reciprocity, plus Straus and his Republican buddies who blocked campus carry, are not pro gun. They're not pro carry. Not when they intentionally support bills/laws to infringe the right of the people to bear arms.
Call it what you want but it looks pretty clear to me. Actions speak louder than campaign sound bites.

With all due respect, their plan is to regulate and restrict where and how the average Texan can carry a handgun for self defense. That is, infringe the right of the people to bear arms.
