That's because they don't care about the rules. They care about keeping college students unarmed so there can be more muggings, rapes and other violence on campus. I don't know why they like innocent victims to suffer, but their votes are proof they do.

Re: HB 3639 - SB 1581
Cut funding for the administrators who spread the lies about HB750 and SB354. That should be a priority for any higher education bills that are still in play.Jasonw560 wrote:Fair enough. What can I do to help with the education? I believe we need to start early, and get minds changed for the better.

Re: HB 3639 - SB 1581
More and more it looks like they shouldn't have taken campus safety out of SB5 until SB1581 passed both houses and went to Perry.

Does that mean he maintains neutrality (except for tie-breaker votes) and doesn't express his opinion to the committee chairs he appointed? Even in private? As Speaker, it is my duty to preside over the other 149 members of the Texas House of Representatives so I rarely vote and do not personally carry legislation; however, I will keep your comments in mind should SB 1581 come before the full House.

Re: HB 3639 - SB 1581
Did SB5 pass with Wentworth's amendment or did they strip it out? A week ago, she removed SB5 from consideration because Wentworth's amendment (to make campuses safer for professors and students) passed. Now it passed but the engrossed version on the Texas Legislature Online looks like they removed the best parts of SB5. http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/ ... 00005E.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Charles L. Has what has passed in the Senate have a realistic chance to pass in the House?
If it does pass in the House, are there convolutions still that can sink it?
Also, how does parking lots stand? Is that a done deal? Stupid me could use a summary.
