Enforcing existing laws is one thing. Allowing the Executive to selectively define and interpret where laws are not perfectly clear is the issue. This allows the Executive to, in essence, limit rights at their discretion thereby making them privileges rather than rights -- at least until the inevitable court decisions are rendered. For the Executive to issue such rulings on matters other than individual rights may be appropriate, but individual rights should not be so cavalierly treated. Due process is called for.Isn't this what we have been saying, that we don't need new laws, but to enforce those laws already on the books?

The teeth they have is setting precedent. If they survive court rulings in any way, these actions will have expanded the power of the executive branch at the expense of individual liberty -- another step, and perhaps a giant one since it messes with individual rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights, toward tyranny.
