Re: Cologne/Ether Robbery Attempt?

ive heard that people will hand out flyers, business cards, cologne, and then when you get into your car. the fumes or what not put you to sleep, then get robbed. i think i got this in a chain email but it sounds like the same type of scam.... also heard about people putting HIV needles in movie th...

Re: Mossberg 500

I built a Mossberg 500 with an AR-15 adjustable stock, side mounted shell holders, rail pump grip with a surefire light and grip, 18" barrel with heat sheild, sling...etc...etc. The thing is, I built this shotgun for home defence, but I NEVER shoot it. I shoot clays all the time, but I use my ...

Romanian AKs...

...have milled recievers not stamped, right? What are some good average prices for AKs these days? A few years ago they were $3-400 then $800. I saw one for $500 last weekend and thougth that was a decent price for a romanian with folding stock. An AK is my next firearm purchase but I want to be sur...

Re: New here, looking for all the info I can get.

No tips - but I would like to hear if the trigger is as gritty as some of the other recent Walther tupperware guns. And also if you like the trigger guard magazine release. Had a PPS and my arthritic fingers would not make the release work for me - too hard. Liked the pistol, but traded it off. Dry...

Re: Pulling weapon to diffuse a road rage scenario?

Well that's too bad you feel that way, honestly. I came here with good intentions I sincerely thought that this might have been the case - and I think that some posters were a bit short in the beginning. I was hoping this might be a case to demonstrate that de-escalation can be as helpful in this f...

Re: Cologne/Ether Robbery Attempt?

What JayCee said - probably like the van full of "speakers my boss said to get rid of cheap"!! It would take more than a sniff of ether to render one defensless. You would have to put it in a bag and huff it (I understand kids are doing just that?) or pour some on a cloth and cover the mo...

Re: Pulling weapon to diffuse a road rage scenario?

You're planning on getting banned, aren't you? Yeah, I feel somewhat ashamed that I stuck up for him a little in the other thread. I do think that our forum can be quick to label new people sometimes and, IMO, that helped escalate the tone in this case. But it seems that he had a date with inevitab...

Re: Cologne/Ether Robbery Attempt?

After briefly describing what happened yesterday in a local parking lot, lady friend tonight told me I may have been the intended victim of an "ether scam". Checkin here to see if others have recently heard of such - and to warn others of the possibilities. Short version is I was getting ...

Re: Why I own guns.

Troll if I ever saw one....YIKES!! I don't think you can say that with certainty. I'm not defending his reactions - certainly not his use of crude references in the last post. But he could easily simply be a hot-head who let the escalation in the other post get the better of him. If our forum had r...

Re: Pulling weapon to diffuse a road rage scenario?

3b. You were a motorist who was behind the wheel of a deadly weapon and means of escape who was legally obligated to yield to those at your left and to merge behind if necessary and as able. But you revved up your little sports car and cut off a truck who was moving with the flow of traffic and had...

Not a troll, but whatever....Makes me wonder how many people have signed up for this site, disagreed with someone and was then flamed and written off as a troll. Probably several.

Re: Pulling weapon to diffuse a road rage scenario?

I didn't point it, didn't fire it...just pulled it out and placed it on my seat so if I do end up in a wreck and he comes to finish the job I have a weapon ready. And just where do you think that weapon you put on the seat was going to be after a wreck? Oh great, more of the what-if game. It was a ...

Re: Why I own guns.

reading through that thread reminded me why I like this one so much. Some very rude and crass responses on that site. Agreed, and some of them were mine but he's a drinking/wrenching-on-engines buddy so I can do that. In all honestly we're all glad he's alive. Home invasions don't ususally end well...

Re: Pulling weapon to diffuse a road rage scenario?

you were flipping out driving like a maniac and brandishing a gun. See, this is what gets me and I think is a huge source of what caused this to get so out of control. No where did I allude to driving like a maniac and waving a gun . It sounds like you and many others simply grazed over my OP, form...
